A4L provides practical, hands-on training for farmers, youth, children, students and communities — using real systems on the farm to demonstrate how aquaculture, aquaponics, BSF and hatchery management work in practice.
§ VIOur approach
Knowledge that survives the trip home.
Malawi's aquaculture sector will only grow if people have the right knowledge, skills and confidence to manage fish farming as a business. That is why training sits at the centre of our work — not as an add-on.
Our trainings are taught on working systems, by people who have raised the fish, fixed the plumbing, run the numbers, and lost a batch or two along the way. Theory is paired with hands on a hose and feet in the gravel.
We design each programme around the audience in the room — from a single farmer planning their first pond to a national institution training a cohort of extension officers.

§ VIIIGeneration Game Changers
Forty children. Four sessions a week. The future of Malawian aquaculture.
The Generation Game Changers programme is A4L's youth and community training initiative. Currently we train 40 primary school children four times every week at our farm.
Children learn practical skills in black soldier fly production, aquaponics, hatchery work, fish farming, environmental care, teamwork, discipline and life skills.
We believe real transformation begins when children are exposed to practical knowledge early in life. Generation Game Changers is our investment in the future — these children are not only learning how food is produced, they are learning how innovation, responsibility and hard work can change their communities.
